Thomas Sunderland Hawkins was born 2 Oct 1829 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. Thomas was a tinsmith by trade. About the time he finished his apprenticeship he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons). He and his young wife immigrated to the United States and made their way to Utah.

Thomas's descendants now number well over a thousand. This web site is dedicated to the memory of Thomas S. Hawkins, his three wives and his children, who pioneered in Utah, Arizona, and Old Mexico.
